Cupcake Bar

We had our company Christmas party on Saturday and I planned to make cupcakes. After reading the latest issue of Southern Living I stole the idea for a design your own cupcake bar. I made four types of cupcakes, vanilla, spice, dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Three types of frosting, vanilla, chocolate and peanut butter. I put sprinkles in small mason jars and decorated them with ribbon. It was a fun activity and I did not have to frost 70 cupcakes!

  1. Wonderful! I saw this in Southern Living but really didn't have any reason or place to try it. You executed it beautifully! Cupcakes make me so happy. I bring them to work sometimes as a special treat and it's so fun to see adults act like 5 year olds :)

  2. If I ever get married again... I will totally go with an upscale version of the cupcake bar instead of a wedding cake :) Oh and the southern living recipe for frosting was delish and since it had cream cheese it held it's shape better than normal buttercream.

  3. This is such a great idea! I know you stole it from the magazing but I like how you arranged it at your party! I'm so going to steal it as well for our extended family Christmas party. Fun for the kids! I found your blog via Bella Della.
